Vehicle and Safety Information

Safety First

Safety is our number one priority

Vehicles: Starting in 2022 the Parade Committee, working with recommendations from the Garner Police Department, implemented driver and vehicle checks and instructions for drivers and vehicles included in the parade.

The checks include

  • Confirmation of drivers licenses.

  • Only allowing drivers over 30 years old.

  • Vehicle Registration and inspection confirmation.

  • Wide buffers between vehicles and walking participants.

  • Driver emergency instructions, one-on-one review, and comprehension confirmation.

Volunteers: Our parade volunteers are easily identifiable in their red parade shirts and have been trained during special training sessions weeks before the parade.

Garner Police Department: The Garner Police Department is our primary public safety consult along with the Town of Garner and we defer unanticipated public safety matters to their expertise.
